| In the spring of 1982, the Kittyhawks dissolved and the remaining players along with their devoted parents formed the team we know today as the Nighthawks, naming Nick Cardinale as director. The core players remaining were younger, enabling us to register in a Midget Division. The team played in the Assabet league at Valley Sports Arena in Concord. | ||

| In 1983, one full year as Nighthawks we won the Midget State Championship and went to Detroit, Michigan for the Nationals. We placed 2nd in the tournament. This was a stepping-stone for future accomplishments. | ||
